Work on the new shops being built within Cumnock town centre is progressing well with the next phase of the build starting on Monday 15 February.
This phase of the construction process, which will include sewage connection works, will mean that Townhead Street will have to close for a period of three weeks.
The contractor has been working closely with the Ayrshire Roads Alliance to ensure that any closure is kept to a minimum, reducing disruption to the local community and commuters.
Signed diversions will be in place for the three week period which will start on Monday 15 February.
The continual poor weather has hampered some of the construction work but the building contractor is pressing ahead and it is hoped that the shops will be completed in the Spring.
A great deal of interest has been shown in the new shops and any vacant units will be advertised for lease in the near future. Interested parties can contact the Council for further information now on 01563 576154 or can email firstname.lastname@example.org
