Cumnock and Muirkirk are set to benefit from road resurfacing works on a number of streets as part of a £500,000 budget commitment made by Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council to improve the condition of roads within local housing estates.
The four week programme, which will be carried out by the Ayrshire Roads Alliance, will start on Avisyard Avenue, Craigens, Cumnock on Monday 8 February and will extend to:
• Netherthird Road, Netherthird, Cumnock
• Cairnscadden Road, Craigens, Cumnock
• Glenlamont, Cumnock
• Pagan Walk, Muirkirk
To ensure the safety of both the roads operatives and the travelling public the streets to be resurfaced will be closed to vehicular traffic, when signed accordingly, and local diversions will be in place.
Residents will receive a notice of roadworks before the works will start on each street and advisory signs will also be erected in advance of the works.
Please note the works are weather dependant and may be postponed at times due to adverse weather, the works will continue on the next available day.
Delays will be inevitable during these essential works and the Ayrshire Roads Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused.
