Consultations to be held over Out of Hours Health and Social Care Service redesign

Two engagement events will take place this week to discuss Out of Hours Health and Social Care Service redesign. The events will gather public opinions on the service as it stands and discuss what improvements can be made. The service is available across Ayrshire & Arran, and is managed through East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (EAHSCP) on behalf of all three Ayrshire partnerships. This provides a basis to provide consistency of quality and access to all our communities and also best use of very skilled resources.

The Pan-Ayrshire service for Social Work was established in March 2012 after the three Ayrshire Councils decided to provide a more localised response to out of hour situations. The Integration of Health and Social Care has provided the opportunity to now bring together a range of services through Out of Hours such as Ayrshire Doctors on Call (ADOC), social work, district nursing and Crisis Mental Health services.

Eddie Fraser, Director of the East Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, said: “The Out of Hours Health and Social Care service plays an invaluable part in local communities.

“These services are for local people and local communities. In considering redesigning we take local opinion very seriously and want to hear the widest possible views.

“I would strongly urge members of the public to attend these meetings and engage with us.”

Following a successful event in East Ayrshire two further one-hour events will take place, North Ayrshire hosting one and South hosting the other.

North Ayrshire’s session will take place on Wednesday 2 November at Redburn Centre, Dickson Drive, Irvine, KA12 9EW starting at 5pm finishing at 6pm.

South Ayrshire will host their event on Thursday 3 November at Lochside Community Centre, Lochside Road, Ayr, KA8 9LH, beginning at 11am and finishing at noon.
