Belly fat will be the target of a hard hitting campaign set to launch during Men’s Health Week – Monday 12 June to Sunday 18 June.
Carrying extra fat on your belly is very bad for your health. Not only does the fat lurk just beneath the surface, it also surrounds vital internal organs. So regardless of your overall weight a large amount of belly fat increases your risk of cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, colorectal cancer, sleep apnoea and high blood pressure.
Making changes to your diet and introducing daily exercise can help to bust belly fat and improve your overall health.
The Lifestyle Development Older Adults and Wellbeing Team will be promoting Men’s Health Week at all of their classes, walks and CHIP van visits.
They can offer belly busting food and exercise advice from the CHIP Van and during Men’s Health Week will be handing out a free information pack and providing free health checks.
To find out where the CHIP Van will be during Men’s Health Week please contact Faye Forsyth on 01563 576398 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
