Award-winning local business, Atlas Cables welcomed a delegation of Chinese business executives to East Ayrshire recently.
The visit was hosted by managing director Kevin Kelly, who was fresh from exhibiting their high end products in Shanghai and at the Munich High End trade fair, the most important hi-fi exhibition in the world.
The company researches, designs and manufactures cables for the hi-fi and audio visual industry at their factory in Kilmarnock. Atlas Cables are sold in over 30 countries and their state of the art award-winning Mavros and Asimi ranges are considered the finest cables in the world.
With an eye on the Chinese market as part of their global expansion strategy, Kevin invited 20 Chinese distributors to view the factory and see their production techniques in action.
The Chinese guests also enjoyed a visit to the world famous MacCallum bagpipe factory before heading to Dumfries House for a tour and lunch.
East Ayrshire Council’s Chief Executive Fiona Lees joined the visitors at Dumfries House. She said: “Atlas Cables is a local, independent company which is leading the way in cable technology and I am delighted that our Chinese visitors have ventured to East Ayrshire to learn from the best.
“Their products, including the Mavros range, have won critical acclaim the world over and was named product of the year, earlier this year, by the UK’s HiFi News magazine. They are recognised as offering the very best high-end products in the world and that is an incredible achievement for a company from Kilmarnock.
“The Council will continue to support Atlas Cables as they continue to expand their global operations.”
Kevin Kelly said: “Atlas Cables continues to grow and strengthen within the high end cable market across the globe. We are a small business that has created a workforce of skilled and knowledgeable employees, dedicated to ensuring our success and our position as a global market leader.
“This event was a great opportunity to bring 20 Chinese distributors to our factory to demonstrate our production techniques and to show off our employees who work so hard for our continued success. The whole day was a great success and strong contacts have been made with the China market.”
