The duties of a teacher working in East Ayrshire Council are defined in Annex B of the national agreement "A teaching profession for the 21st century" and the Standard for Full Registration (SFR).
The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.

Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
This is a permanent full time post based at St Joseph's Academy, Kilmarnock.
The normal work pattern for this post is 35 hours per week to be worked Monday to Friday at the direction of the line manager.
The salary for the post is £32,034 - £40,206 per annum.
Please note that Newly Qualified Teachers are entitled to apply for this post, should an NQT be successful in gaining this post the start date will be August 2020 (subject to the NQT achieving the standard for full registration). Fully registered teachers will commence in post with immediate effect (subject to all necessary recruitment checks being completed and notice period).
