Job Description

Assist the Head of Centre/Head Teacher in the management of the early childhood centre for the benefit of children, families and the wider community in compliance with national and local authority guidance and the statutes relating to the provision of early learning and childcare supporting the better integration of universal services within a specified locality in accordance with GIRFEC, national standards and guidelines in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the Education Plan, the Children and Young People’s Services Plan and the Community Plan.

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council.Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.

There are 3 full time positions available across East Ayrshire. You will be asked within your application form which post(s) you wish to be considered for. The posts available are Auchinleck ECC and Drongan ECC which are 52 week establishments along with Crosshouse ECC which is a 39 week establishment. All posts are permanent apart from Crosshouse ECC which will be temporary for 9 months. The hours of work are 35 per week plus one hour contractual overtime. The salary for the 52 week posts is £36,982 - £39,221 however with the one hour contractual overtime the actual salary will be £38,038 - £40,341.The salary for the 39 week post is £31,648 - £33,564 however with the one hour contractual overtime the actual salary will be £32,552 - £34,523.
