Job Description

Contribute to the provision of a quality early learning and childcare service for children aged 2 to 5 years and their families/carers which supports the wider programme of work to reduce inequalities and close the poverty related attainment gap , working to the principles of the Health and Social Care Standards: My support , my life and supporting collegiate practice and teamwork across the early childhood centre in order to assist with the promotion, delivery and integration of the key objectives in relation to those identified within the early childhood centre Improvement Plan, the Education Service Plan, the Children and Young People’s Services Plan and the Community Plan.
Requirements

The duties of the post involve Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful applicants for such posts will be required to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member in respect of Regulated Work with either or both of these groups as appropriate, or if they are already a Scheme member, be subject to a PVG Scheme Record Update, before any formal offer of employment can be made by East Ayrshire Council. Please note:- PVG members' records are constantly updated with any new vetting information that arises. Any information that is disclosed on a PVG Scheme Record or Scheme Record Update, if relevant to the post being applied for, will be discussed with the applicant prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
Responsibilities

There are 3 posts available (2 permanent and 1 temporary). The posts available are based at Newmilns ECC, Patna ECC and a joint post between Logan ECC and Muirkirk ECC. You will be asked within your application form which post(s) you wish to be considered for. The hours of work for Newmilns ECC and joint Logan and Muirkirk ECC posts are 35 plus one hour contractual overtime per week (both permanent) and the hours of work for Patna ECC are 14 hours per week plus 20 minutes contractual overtime (temporary). The salary for the full time posts is £33,306 - £36,418 however with the one hour contractual overtime, the actual salary will be £34,257 - £37,458. The salary for the part time post is £13,332 - £14,567 however with the 20 minutes contractual overtime, the actual salary will be £13,698 - £14,967.
