
A wide range of items can be collected using our special/bulky uplift service. For example:
- furniture
- carpets
- mattresses
- three piece suites
- electrical items - televisions
- white goods - cookers, fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers
However, DIY and demolition debris such as windows, doors, garden sheds, bricks, slabs or builders rubble, trees, fencing, coal bunkers, storage heaters, asbestos and vehicle parts will not be collected as part of an uplift request.

Charges
The following charges apply:
- 1-3 items: £15.93
- 4-5 items: £29.21
- £3.49 per additional item – with a maximum of 10 additional items allowed per uplift.
Residents in receipt of benefit relating to Council Tax or Housing Benefit are eligible to a 50% discount on published charges.
Any items taken directly to our Recycling Centres by residents will be accepted free of charge.
Arrange a bulky uplift
To arrange a bulky uplift you can either:
You will be advised to place your items within your property boundary as close as possible to your usual collection point. We aim to collect items within seven working days.
Please note that a separate charging structure applies to kitchen and bathroom units.
