Festive bulky uplift arrangements 2017-2018
To ensure collection before Christmas Day or New Year's Day all uplift requests should be received by Wednesday 20 December 2017 or Wednesday 27 December 2017 respectively.
Uplift requests received on either Thursday 21 December 2017 or Friday 22 December 2017 may not be uplifted until Wednesday 27 December 2017 at the earliest.
Uplift requests received on either Thursday 28 December 2017 or Friday 29 December 2017 may not be uplifted until Wednesday 3 January 2018 at the earliest.
A wide range of items can be collected using our special/bulky uplift service. For example:
- three piece suites
- electrical items - televisions
- white goods - cookers, fridges, freezers, washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers
However, DIY and demolition debris such as windows, doors, garden sheds, bricks, slabs or builders rubble, trees, fencing, coal bunkers, storage heaters, asbestos and vehicle parts will not be collected as part of an uplift request.
The following charges apply:
- 1-3 items: £15.00
- 4-5 items: £25.00
- £3.00 per additional item – with a maximum of 10 additional items allowed per uplift
Any items taken directly to our Recycling Centres by residents will be accepted free of charge.

To arrange a bulky uplift contact us on the details below, or your nearest Customer Service Centre, who will process your payment, take your name, address and details of the items you wish to have collected.
Please place the items within your property boundary as close as possible to your usual collection point. We aim to collect all items within seven working days. Please note that payment in advance is required.
Please note that a separate charging structure applies to kitchen and bathroom units.
