Primary pupils will be able to pre-order their school meal with their class teacher at the start of every day. Orders will then be sent to the catering manager. If your primary school already uses the ParentPay Parent Booking service, you can continue to order meals through ParentPay as before.
From Wednesday 12 August 2020, our Catering Service will be introducing a Pre-order Portal for school meals. Access codes have now been emailed to pupils' Glow accounts and can be activated straight away. Orders will be accepted from 3pm on 11 August.
This will allow pupils and staff to order school meals from their own devices either within the school or externally, for example, at home or anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection.
The Pre-order Portal will provide remote access for pupils and staff to pre-order school meals without having to queue at the servery.
This will enhance the service within secondary schools by removing the need to use pre-order kiosks and biometrics, giving pupils with a safer and faster way to order their school meal.

Only secondary pupils will use the Pre-order Portal. Primary pupils will pre-order their meal in the classroom with their teacher each morning.
S1 pupils will not be able to log onto the Pre-order Portal until they have attended school on their first day. Arrangements have been made with schools to allow S1 pupils time to set up their school log in and password, then their pre order portal account.
On the first day, depending on the timescales pupils will be able to order their school lunch either via the Pre Order Portal or details of their meal choice collected in the classroom.

Robert Burns Academy
Robert Burns Academy pupils will not be able to log onto the Pre-order Portal until they have attended school on their first day. Arrangements have been made which will allow pupils time to set up their school log in and password, then their pre-order portal account.
Depending on the timescales, pupils will be able to order their school lunch either via the Pre-order Portal or as agreed by the Headteacher to ensure they receive a school meal, if required.
Park School Secondary
Pupils will be able to use the Pre-order Portal. The school is emailing a unique linking code to pupils and will notify parents and provide any assistance needed to set up accounts.
S2 - S6 Pupils who have forgotten their login and password
Pupils will need to have their password reset in school and will not be able to log in to the Pre Order Portal until they have logged onto a school computer in the first instance with their new password
The school meals Pre-order Portal is clear and easy to understand. It is similar to using the Just Eat app or ordering meals in some fast food outlets.
The Portal allows pupils to pre-order their school lunch for that day, before a predefined cut off time.

Pupils need their school login and password to access the Pre-order Portal. If your child has forgotten their school login or password they should contact their school directly to request a password reset.
Pupils who have forgotten their curricular login and password will need to have their password reset in school and will not be able to log in to the Pre Order Portal until they have logged onto a school computer in the first instance with their new password.
In addition to the school login and password referred to above, your child will also be given a unique link code from our school meals cashless catering system.
Details of your child's link code will be sent to their Glow email address. Your child should enter this link code the first time they log into the school meals Pre-order Portal.
Yes. They can access the Pre-order Portal from any device. For example, PC, laptop, tablet and mobile phone through an Internet browser when they have a Wi-Fi connection.
They will not be able to access this through Internet Explorer but will be able to access through any other Internet browser.
Yes. Pupils can login from any device and from anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection.
Yes, children can access the Pre-order Portal from a school device in the same way as they would from a personal device.
Yes. Children can access the Pre-order Portal from anywhere they have a Wi-Fi connection.
At the moment, the pre order portal cannot identify any allergens so your child will see all menu items. We are working on this to make sure that if you have notified us your child has any allergies, they will not be able to order any meals that include any of those known allergens.
No. They will only be able to order on a daily basis. The Pre-order Portal will be open at the end of the school day so orders can be placed for the next day.
You will be able to order the end of the school day for the next day, until a set cut off time on the day you require a meal.
This cut off time will vary from school to school and is likely to be around morning break time.
Pupils will see the balance of their account on the screen when they login to place an order. This is the balance on your ParentPay school meals account. Their account can be topped up as normal on your ParentPay account.
Please note that if you pay any money into your ParentPay account online, it will take about 15 minutes to update the balance on your child’s cashless catering account. If you pay by Pay Point, this can take up to 48 hours to reach your ParentPay account.
Pupils will not be able to use the Pre-order Portal if they do not have any money in their account. (If pupils are entitled to free school meals, their allowance will be added daily to their account). They will still be able to get a meal at the serving counter at lunchtime, but the choices will be very limited and they might not get their first choice.

Yes. Pupils who are entitled to free school meals will be able to use the Pre-order Portal to order a set meal choice. They will only be able to order to the daily set limit, unless additional funds are added to their ParentPay account.
For the moment, pupils will have a limited daily choice of meal deals. This will continue until we can return to normal service.

If your child doesn't pre-order a meal, they will still be able to get a meal at the serving counter at lunch time, but the choices will be very limited and they might not get their first choice.
Pre-ordered meals will be delivered to a pre-identified location. This will be agreed with headteachers at each school and your child will be notified in advance where their year group collection point will be. All pre-ordered meals will be labelled and include their name, year group and meal choice.
Once your child has confirmed their order, the order number will be displayed on screen. They will be able to log back in and see this order number for the meal to be collected that day.
Simply logging back into their account they will see their current order number required for collection for that day.
Yes. They can log back into their account before the agreed cut off time, cancel their order and reselect new options.
Yes. They can log back into their account and cancel their order as long as it is before the agreed cut off time.
Yes. If your child is ill, you should notify the school on the morning of your child's absence. The Catering Manager will link with the school office to arrange for the money to be refunded to your ParentPay account.
