Statement of Licensing Policy
The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 requires Licensing Boards to prepare and publish a statement of its licensing policy every three years. East Ayrshire Licensing Board is now consulting on the terms of its revised Statement of Policy.
In terms of Section 7 of the Act, the Board are required to include a statement as to the extent that the Board considers there to be over provision of licensed premises or licensed premises of a particular description in any locality within the Board’s area.
On the basis of the information provided by various local agencies and having regard to the Board’s own knowledge, the Board determined on a preliminary basis that there is no over provision either (a) of licensed premises or (b) of licensed premises of a particular description in any locality within East Ayrshire and any new applications will continue to be dealt with on their individual merits.
Responses to the Statement of Policy should be submitted no later than 2 September 2013.
