Proposal
We are consulting on a placemaking map and action programme for the future development of Auchinleck.
Once priorities are decided, these options will become part of the Local Development Plan, which means the wishes of the community will be taken into consideration in every future planning and development proposal for the area.

Placemaking
Placemaking is a process which allows local communities to shape the future of their built and natural environment. Part of the Placemaking process involves public consultations.
Part of the Placemaking process involves community engagement, workshops and public consultations to co-produce placemaking maps and actions
The maps and action programmes identify, in spatial terms, the priorities of people engaged in the development of Community Led Action Plans for each community.
Following further work to identify the exact location and nature of the improvements, the maps and actions have been agreed with the local steering group as representing community priorities prior to formal consultation.
The formal consultation we are now undertaking, aims to make sure that local people agree with the maps and action programme, which have been developed by the local steering group and which have been influenced by the informal public consultation that took place earlier in the process. Once finalised these will be adopted as statutory Supplementary Guidance.
