The Sport, Play, Learning, Achieving, Together (SPLAT) physical literacy programme aims to work with primary 1 to primary 3 students and their families to facilitate a 30 week intervention working across four primary schools using three key concepts which assist in the push to raise attainment of our young people: Growth Mindset; Physical Literacy and Nutritional Intake.
The programme is implemented once per week in each school from 1pm-5pm and consists of:
- family support sessions
- play and parenting workshops
- child physical literacy proficiency
- supported homework sessions and a shared mealtime
The long-term goal, for each school, is to set up a parent-led after school group.
