Move More is a partnership between East Ayrshire and Macmillan Cancer Support.
The aim is to provide opportunities for those living with and beyond cancer to take part in physical activity sessions.
Even a small amount of exercise can go a great way to help you with fatigue, increasing fitness and it is a great way to meet people that have similar experiences
Move More is now back delivering face to face sessions. We have classes in Kilmarnock and Stewarton and you can attend other classes across East Ayrshire. Please contact the Move More team to find out about the classes and how to be referred.
We have been working with NHS Ayrshire & Arran to support those recently diagnosed with bowel cancer to participate in prehab.
Prehab is building fitness, improving diet and providing psychological support in partnership with Ayrshire Cancer Support. The aim of prehab is to improve a patient’s outcome post-surgery and treatment. If you are fitter prior to treatment the evidence shows you tolerate it better, have a quicker recovery and potentially less time in hospital (post operation).
