As part of the Customer First programme, the Scottish Government, East Ayrshire Council and other agencies have introduced the National Entitlement Card (NEC) to make it easier for people to access public services across Scotland using just one card. The National Entitlement Card delivers Scotland-wide free bus travel for older (60 plus) and disabled people.
NEC cards production
Due to COVID-19, we have made changes to how NEC cards are currently being produced.
Replacement cards can now be requested online for the following:
- Lost or stolen cards
- Faulty cards
- Change of address
How to apply for a first time application
Please complete a NEC application form (PDF 808Kb) and return it via e-mail to us, with your supporting documents to NEC@east-ayrshire.gov.uk
All new applications must provide the following supporting documents:
- Proof of person or referee form
- Proof of address
- Passport quality photo
If you are using your birth certificate as proof of person/age, you must send the Photo Referee Verifier Form (PDF 467Kb) to an approved referee for completion and return it with your application and supporting documents.
If you are applying for a disabled card, you must also provide proof of eligibility. For more information of eligibility, please visit the Transport Scotland website.
