Money advice involves the provision of free and confidential advice and assistance to people who are having difficulty with debt repayments. It also includes help to negotiate arrangements with creditors and to ensure that people are receiving their full benefit entitlement.
Support assistants who specialise in this work continue to operate within Social Services, but access to this service is now only available to people whose circumstances fall within specified community care criteria.
Free, confidential and impartial advice and assistance for people experiencing difficulty with debt repayments is also available from your local Citizens Advice Bureau.
For further information on the above services, or how to access them, please contact either your local Social Services office on the number below or Citizens Advice Bureau as appropriate.
