Love Eat Shop Enjoy Local
Shop Local is a message which most people understand and we’re all familiar with the benefits of using our local high streets and supporting independent traders and local companies, keeping money circulating within our own communities.
By buying, giving and using an East Ayrshire Gift Card you can give a gift to more than a loved one or friend, you’re giving support to local people and helping your community.
Kilmarnock Town Centre selfie trail
No one likes getting their photo taken but that could all change with the new selfie trail around the Kilmarnock Town Centre.
The Town Centre Regeneration Team in partnership with the Kilmarnock Business Association, Celebrate Kilmarnock and the Burns Mall are showcasing artwork from local artist Lorna Wallace to create some fun while you and the family or friends are out shopping. Get a hug from the squirrel, ear tickled by the alien or even your head bitten off by the shark – see if you can find all 6 around the town centre. There are also three Christmas selfies in windows near the Christmas tree to bring some Christmas cheer to the town centre.
Please remember to follow physical distancing guidelines, make sure you keep safe while taking photos but most importantly please have fun, enjoy the trail and shop local while out and about.
Post your photos on our social media using #killieselfie and follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Working in partnership with Business Associations across East Ayrshire, we support a wide range of initiatives to help promote the shop local message and to help drive footfall in our town centres.
Recent partnership working with business associations has led to the East Ayrshire Gift Card and the Virtual High Street ShopAppy, both of which will help support businesses and boost the local economy. We can help businesses with practical advice, help to identify funding opportunities and training opportunities.
If your business community is considering creating a business association please get in touch for more information on how we can help.
