Search Tips
How to Search
Searching this site is as simple as typing a few words into the search
box and clicking on the go button. However, sometimes you may need to
reduce or expend the number of records returned. To achieve this you can
try some of the advanced searching tips below.
Phrase Searches
Search for complete phrases by enclosing them in quotation marks. Words
enclosed in double quotes ("like
this") will appear together in
all results exactly as you have entered them. Phrase searches are especially
useful when searching for specific services or proper names.
Example:
Searching for:
"Adult
Service"
Will require an exact phrase match for an item to be returned in the
results.
"AND" Searches
By inserting "AND" or "+"
between words you can require a specific combination of words be present
in all search results.
Example:
Searching for:
sports AND
development
Will require both the words to be present in each of the results.
"OR" Searches
Our search supports the logical "OR"
operator. There is no need to use this as the "OR"
operator is automatically implied when doing simple searches.
Example:
Searching for:
Moving Disturbance
Automatically searches for:
Moving OR
Disturbance
Will return results that contain either of the words Moving
or Disturbance.
Advanced Tips
You can combine the use of Phrases, "AND"
and "OR" operators to achieve very
specific results.
Example:
Searching for:
inspection
+ "care
homes" OR affleck
Will return only results that contain the words inspection
and the phrase "care
homes", or items with the word
affleck in them.
