Electronically Accessible Council

User Benefits

The benefit to individuals is clear. You will be able to interact with East Ayrshire Council and government services in a way that is more local and more accessible. You will be able to do this at a time that suits you and in a location that suits you. Furthermore, if you do not presently have the skills to interact electronically, you will have easy access to training and support to allow you to do this. If you do not have the hardware to access this information from home, you can take advantage of many of the public access terminals that this project will secure, in locations such as libraries.

Picture of a Handshake To date, the number of users who can benefit from all elements of our approach to electronic information and services is increasing considerably, especially in those communities within our Social Inclusion Partnership area. We want to continue to bring these benefits to all members of our community, customers and visitors alike.

There are substantial benefits to our partners also. East Ayrshire Council believe we have a track record in providing innovative ICT solutions to the delivery of local services. We are now working closely with a range of public and private sector partners so that our innovation can be shared and the range of services available electronically can be increased. We have already secured Modernising Government Funding to ensure that residents in East Ayrshire can take full advantage of information, of e-commerce, and of e-government as the means of accessing web technologies increases. We want our local residents to be at the forefront of the information revolution rather than to be excluded by it.
