Excellence Awards Ceremony
On
27 October 2005, the Council held its inaugural Excellence Awards Ceremony
to recognised success within the Council. IT Services won the award for
“Innovation” for its Customer Contact Gateway project. The
Customer Contact Gateway is part of the Council’s Customer First
programme to improve customer services across the Council. The project
took a unique approach to service delivery, using internet technology
to allow staff in the Local Offices to make full use of information from
our award winning website and departmental information systems. This has
lead to an increase in the number of services that can be obtained from
our Local Offices as well as allowing us to introduce a Distributed Contact
Centre network and Customer Self Service enquiries. East Ayrshire Council
is the first Council in Scotland to offer creation of a Customer Account
and subscription to a variety of services via the internet. The innovative
way the problems of data access, information security and usability have
been tackled will allow us to expand this project to deliver many more
services electronically in the future. View
