Recent Additions to our website during 2007
Listed here are some relatively new features of our website which you may not be aware of. We are always developing new features which we hope will be useful and we welcome any feedback.

The council's new electronic recruitment system allows you to search and apply for jobs completely online. You can save your application form details and continue it later at your convenience.
Search Improvements - with Google!
The installation of our very own Google box means that we can bring you the kind of powerful searches you are used to on the world wide web. Almost every page of our website has the Search Box displayed prominently, or you can choose to search on a specific catalogue of information. Choose from: A-Z; Web Pages; or Council Committee Agendas, Minutes and Reports.
New Media Gallery - with videos!
Our new Media Gallery is an in-house development which brings you not only photographs, but sound and video too. Try our streaming video presentations from the links on relevant web pages, or from the gallery itself.
New websites - The Guide and Community Planning
The Guide website is the first part of the visiteastayrshire portal. All the Arts and Theatre and Museums events are listed here, with pictures, information and streaming video.
The new Community Planning website is hosted by the Council on behalf of the community Planning Partnership. The site is available for anyone to browse but has private areas for members, who can also contribute and collaborate in the strategic planning process.

Google Maps
Following on from the success of our web-GIS mapping features, we are now rolling out Google maps across the site. The first example is in the Find My Nearest section of the site, which allows you to find information of all Council facilities across the area. the Google maps should provide a faster and feature-rich service and represents a best-value solution for the Council.
Browsealoud
This year we introduced the Browsealoud service onto our website. If you have any views on this we will be happy to hear from you.

Feel you need some energy advice? Our new pages, including video presentations should help.

Webcam Improvements
Our Moving webcams are almost unique in the UK. They continue to prove popular with visitors to the website and potential tourists to the area. The new model cams provide even better video streams and we have installed moving-image Wedding Cams which will be available on the website soon.
In Your Area
This feature will accompany the Find My Nearest pages and provides a collation of several silos of data. It wll allow you to find out the information relevant to Your Area via an address search on your home address on our Property Gazetteer. In technical terms, it enables a 'spatial' search for information and facilities. It will be built on as we proceed to categorise more data with spatial references.
Coming Soon - Connect2 - improved eBookings
You will already be familiar with our online electronic booking system, for example allowing you to book a Registrars appointment online. The next release of this system is almost ready, introducing improved Events and Leisure bookings.
Coming Soon - CCG and Local Office Service Improved
Our Customer Contact Gateway will soon have the benefit of Business Accounts, allowing local businesses to perform Non-Domestic Rates enquiries.
In addition we are
enhancing our Customer Relationship Management system's contact recording features to help us co-ordinate more efficiently across Council services. This will reduce information duplication and the number of contacts required to resolve an issue.
