HOUSING
Tenancy Support
Tenancy Support has been set up to provide housing support for people
living in East Ayrshire and aims to prevent and alleviate Homelessness.
Support is available to anyone living in East Ayrshire Council homes,
private rented accommodation and those who rent from a housing association
for example; Atrium Homes to Shire Housing Association.
The Tenancy Support Team provide support in a number of ways, to help
individuals to keep their tenancies. This can be through information,
advice or more practical support. For example;
- Viewing a new home.
- Accessing furniture.
- Assistance in applying for benefits.
- Budgeting money.
- Homemaking skills.
- General advice on housing issues.
- Attending meetings, appeals, and reviews with you.
- Assistance with completing forms.
- Managing day to day correspondence such as letters or bills.
- Arranging for the supply of gas and electricity.
- Registering with a GP
- Planning weekly shopping.
- Enable individuals to voice their opinions and help them to be heard.
- Accessing other services - mental health, addictions, health, money
advice etc.
- Offering you the opportunity to have someone who you can speak to.
- Supporting clients to address underlying issues which may affect personal
confidence or behaviour, including referring to other agencies.
- Promote positive interaction and behaviour by providing access to
a range of educational and training opportunities.
How to Contact the Team?
Anyone can refer themselves to the team by contacting us directly. Alternatively
if you are involved with any other agencies (for example, Social Work
or Health Services) they can make referrals on an individuals behalf.
