What happens if I apply for and get a Housing Association house?

You simply become a tenant of a Housing Association and not the Council. You pay your rent to your new landlord and report repairs and problems to them as well.

What will the rent levels be?

The level of rent you will have to pay will vary across each Housing Association but just like Council Housing you can apply for Housing Benefit if you are unemployed or on a low income.

Can I apply for a Housing Association house and a Council house?

Yes. You can be registered on as many waiting lists as you want. The more options you give yourself the more chance you will have in being housed.

Where do I find out more?

You can ring any of the Housing Associations noted above and ask them for more information or get them to send you an application form.
