Learning in East Ayrshire is a lifelong activity and right across the area there are opportunities whatever your age.

East Ayrshire’s schools have an excellent reputation with pupils attaining results higher than the national average across the age ranges.

There are 9 secondary schools, 46 primary and 33 nursery schools and classes and there are 18 early years providers in the private, voluntary and independent sectors.

The Council is committed to making best possible provision for children with special educational needs, the vast majority of whom are educated in mainstream schools. This is achieved by attendance in classes or through placement in one of the specialist centres attached to a school.
