Laptop Winner Announced!
The result of the East Ayrshire Council Website Survey
Councillors Tommy Farrell and Drew McIntyre were on hand recently to
present delighted website competition winner Dorothy Scott with a laptop
computer.
Dorothy entered the competition through the Council's recently revamped
website by filling in a questionnaire about the website service. The website
is designed to help residents of East Ayrshire access Council services
at the click of a button.
You can pay your council tax via the website; request a housing repair;
see the current council job vacancies; read the latest council news; view
the libraries' catalogue; find out what events are on in East Ayrshire;
view online maps of East Ayrshire showing where libraries, council offices
and games halls are located; view submitted planning applications or even
hire a skip!
Councillor Tommy Farrell, the Council's e-advocate, said: "We have
come a long way since 1996 when we were one of the first Councils in Scotland
to have a 'web presence'. A great deal of work has gone into the development
of the website, not just on programming, but in ensuring that the site
is up-to-date and relevant to all who use it. I believe that the new website
provides us with the ideal platform on which to build further on-line
services and I would encourage people to log on and take a look at how
the website can help them."
Councillor Drew McIntyre, Leader of the Council, added: "I would
like to offer my congratulations to Dorothy for winning the website competition.
The Council website is a wonderful resource which provides immediate access
to information and services for the residents of East Ayrshire."
