The Irvine Valley Regeneration Partnership
Who Are We?
Irvine Valley Regeneration Partnership is a company limited by guarantee and was formally constituted in June 1999 to undertake projects aimed at the regeneration of the Irvine Valley.
IVRP is classified as a rural Partnership and receives grant assistance from East Ayrshire Council towards running costs, in-kind assistance and ad hoc contributions to project costs.
IVRP is also a Partnership in
Newmilns Townscape Heritage Initiative which is restoring key buildings in
the Conservation Area of Newmilns with a 5.2m investment from a wide range
of funders.
What do we do?
Irvine Valley 2020 Vision
The Partnership has identified its long term vision for the Irvine Valley.
Diversifying the local economy through:
Tourism of a sort that encourages people into the Valley Towns
Supporting industrial development where there are suitable sites
Modern/service industries which do not require industrial estate locations
Supporting existing industries
Supporting conversion of redundant shops to residential and other uses
Recognising that there may still be surplus buildings. Accepting that some carefully chosen demolitions may be inevitable and develop plans for their sites.
With a long term aim of regenerating this scenic and historic area, the Partnership is moving forward with a series of environmental improvements and tourism related projects.
