SERVICES
Revenues and Benefits
This section is responsible for processing of Housing and Council Tax Benefits for residents, Benefit Fraud prevention and detection, Council Tax and Non-Domestic rates billing and collection.
Corporate Accounting
This section is responsible for Budget Preparation, Budget Monitoring and Control, Financial Returns, Professional Advice to Executive Directors, Statutory and Financial Reporting, Financial and Revenue Ledger Control, Rent Accounting and Systems Management and Administration.
Exchequer
This section is responsible for Treasury Management, Leasing, VAT and Statutory Compliance, Risk Management and Insurance, Income Management and Payments.
Best Value and Performance
The Best Value and Performance Section has lead corporate responsibility for overseeing the Council’s approach to fulfilling its legislative duty arising from the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 and associated Statutory Guidance and Regulations. The section, which comprises 5.5 full-time equivalent officers, interprets national legislation and guidance, develops policy direction, provides corporate support in ensuring that the Council fulfils a range of statutory responsibilities, and is responsible for the implementation of an IT-based performance management system.
