SERVICES
Revenues & Benefits
This section is responsible for processing of Housing and Council Tax Benefits for resident, Benefit Fraud prevention and detection, Council Tax and Non-Domestic rates billing and collection.
Technical Services
Technical Services offer a client-orientated professional multi-disciplinary service for the design and construction of all council building construction projects, including Architectural, Quantity Surveying and Engineering services. In addition, the Division includes integrated customer focused support services such as Customer Support, Client Audit and Energy Advice Services. This enables the Division to carry out all client briefs in a comprehensive and integrated manner.
Property Services
The Property Section is responsible for the Disposal and lease of land and property, providing professional property advice to Council Departments and Committees.
Corporate Accounting
This section is responsible for Budget Preparation, Budget Monitoring and Control, Financial Returns, Professional Advice to Executive Directors, Statutory and Financial Reporting, Financial and Revenue Ledger Control, Rent Accounting and Systems Management and Administration.
Exchequer
This section is responsible for Treasury Management, Leasing, VAT and Statutory Compliance, Risk Management and Insurance, Income Management and Payments.
Best Value & Performance
The Best Value & Performance Section has lead corporate responsibility for overseeing the Council’s approach to fulfilling its legislative duty arising from the Local Government in Scotland Act 2003 and associated Statutory Guidance and Regulations. The section, which comprises 4.5 full-time equivalent officers, interprets national legislation and guidance, develops policy direction, and provides corporate support in ensuring that the Council fulfils a range of statutory responsibilities.
