purpose of East Ayrshire Home Care Service is to provide personal care and practical
support to vulnerable individuals and their families to enable them to continue
living at home. Services aim to be flexible and responsive and are provided following
an individual assessment of need. Services are provided to a whole range
of people including: - Frail Older People
- People with Dementia
- Adults
with Physical Disabilities
- Adults with Learning Disabilities
- Adults
with Mental Health Problems
- Children with Disabilities
- Families
- Carers
What
services can we provide : The types of care provided will vary according
to the individual's assessed care needs but may include: Personal Care
- Personal Hygiene - Bathing, Showering, Hair washing, Shaving, Oral Hygiene
- Continence
Management - Assistance with Toileting, Catheter / Stoma Care, Skin Care, Incontinence
Laundry
- Simple Treatments - Assistance with Medication, Creams, Lotions,
Simple Dressings
- Assistance with Dressing / Undressing
- Assistance
moving around inside - including transfers and use of a hoist
Practical
Support - Shopping
- Housework
- Meals
- Collecting
Benefits / Paying Bills
Services are provided either directly by East
Ayrshire Council employees or by partner providers contracted by the council.
All services provided should meet the Scottish Executive National Care Standards
- Care at Home. This means that you should be consulted and given clear
information about the service to be provided. The staff should be appropriately
trained for the task and your rights and dignity should be respected. Charges
for Home Care Services For people over 65 there is no charge for personal
care provided. There may be charges for other services provided. For people
under 65 there may be charges for all services provided. The charge to each
individual will be determined through East Ayrshire non-residential Charging
Policy. |
