WHO CAN ACCESS
THESE SERVICES? Anyone living in East Ayrshire who feels they
are having difficulties in staying (or becoming) as independent as they would
wish can request an assessment of need. HOW CAN YOU ACCESS THESE
SERVICES? If there is a social worker/nurse/home care worker/support
worker already visiting you and you feel you need more services please discuss
this with the worker. If you are not currently receiving support
please contact:
Reception Services
or alternatively, one of the other Social Work offices in East Ayrshire. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Staff will be
in touch with you to offer you advice, information or access to an assessment. WHAT
DOES AN ASSESSMENT INVOLVE? There are different types of assessment
but most will involve a member of staff visiting you at home, by arrangement,
to discuss any difficulties you are having. From that initial discussion we will
agree with you what else needs to be done to either (a) gather in more information
or (b) offer you access to services. If we are unable to assist we will tell you
why this is the case. WILL I HAVE TO PAY? We are currently
changing our charging arrangements as the law is changing in relation to personal
and non-personal care.
