Who are my Birth Parents ?

People learn that they were adopted at different stages in their lives. Some have always known whilst others may find out in later years or by accident.

Very Often this raises questions for people and for some, they may wish to find answers.

Access to Birth Records.
If you were adopted in Scotland before December 1987, you are entitled to have access to your birth records under Article54 of the Adoption (Scotland) Order 1978.

The purpose of the Register is to put adopted people and their birth parents, or other birth relatives, in touch with each other when both parties want this to happen.
