ONSITE SERVICES - STRATEGY

Commitment

onsite endeavours always to provide the Council with a professional Facilities Management service that emphasises the ethos of true public service.
Because we have developed excellent management information systems and we employ key personnel with extensive operations experience, we are able to maintain a low administrative costs base.
As a result more of the funding goes towards actually providing front line services for the work of the Council.

Purchasing

onsite purchases food and supplies through the authorities buying Picture: Cleaning consortium contracts.  This ensures onsite's rigid quality specifications will be met.  It also means that we can obtain volume savings for the Council's customers and take advantage of bulk purchase opportunities and market innovation.

Continuous Improvement

onsite's clear commitment in its Business Plan to Continuous Quality Improvement gives priority to implementing and maintaining a high standard in Food Production, Cleaning and Facilities Management Techniques throughout all Council premises.

Demonstrating Competitiveness

onsite benchmarking with similar organisations and comparisons with Industry norms ensures that we strive always to maintain our competitive position.
This rigorous approach to our work identifies areas for Continuous Service Improvement ensuring that we never take our privileged position within the Council for granted.

Employee Development

onsite has little capital or equipment.

By far its main asset is its employees. The unit is therefore committed to staff development at all levels, evidenced through its Training Plan and the East Ayrshire Council EAGER programme.

Diet and Health

School meals offer nutritionally balanced, well presented food. The Scottish Executive's Hungry for Success initiative aims to make school meals even healthier by:

  • Increasing potatoes, pasta and rice
  • Increasing fruit and vegetables
  • Increasing fibre
  • Reducing fat
  • Reducing sugar and salt
  • Using healthy cooking methods

Special Catering

onsite would like to draw your attention to Catering Express where there is an online facility for ordering catering for meetings and functions.
