Budget Planning and monitoring
The section compiles annual budgets for all areas of the Education
Service and is responsible for monitoring financial spending throughout
the year. In conjunction with Corporate Finance the Resource Section
prepares four weekly monitoring statements for all budget holders
and produces Budgetary Control reports for the Education and Social
Work Committees and the Budget Scrutiny Group.
All budget planning and monitoring activities involve detailed discussion
and consultation with service providers to ensure that spending plans
are linked closely to Council objectives. All central orders are processed
through the Resource Section.
