Psychological Service
The Educational Psychology Service provides a range of services for schools,
parents and young people with special educational needs within East Ayrshire.
What services are available?
- assessment and advice on a whole range of difficulties associated
with young persons experiencing problems which influence their learning.
- training and consultancy work with schools and other community groups.
- advice to parents on issues regarding specific problems they may be
experiencing with their children.
- setting up and evaluating projects designed to support teaching and
learning for vulnerable children and young people.
- advice and support to the Authority on developing strategic policies
to facilitate inclusive education for all in East Ayrshire.
Do psychologists work with all young people?
- The Educational Psychology Service has a remit for all young people
in the age range 0 - 19 years who may have need of specialist support
to help their education. We will be found working with families and
children in their pre-school years; throughout their primary school
years and on through secondary education including post school provision.
Where can psychologists be contacted?
- Each psychologist has responsibility to provide a service to a group
of education establishments in East Ayrshire and initial contact can
be made by discussing concerns with headteachers.
