Loudoun Academy is a six year comprehensive school, which serves the communities of the Irvine Valley, Hurlford and the surrounding rural area. It is situated on the outskirts of Galston and has extensive grounds, which include playing fields. The school was built in 1970 and, in addition to normal classroom facilities, contains a Library, Games Hall, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Assembly Hall and Lecture Theatre.

We aim to have a school in which:

staff, pupils and parents work together to reach the highest levels of achievement

resources are distributed appropriately to support identified priorities

pupils of all abilities are given access to course work at a level appropriate to their needs

and partnerships are developed with parents, the local community and local industry

The school's administrative staff have access to a high level of technological support and the development of the use of information Technology is a priority throughout the school.
