COMMUNITY LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
Learning Centres
Within the Kilmarnock area we have two learning centres, Shortlees Learning
Centre and North West Learning Centre. These facilities provide learning
opportunities for the surrounding communities in partnership with Kilmarnock
College. The majority of courses are free and are tutored by experienced
and friendly staff. The centre staff are on hand every day to help you
take your first steps or develop your existing skills and can assist you
to write up your own personal learning plan which details what you would
like to learn, how you would like to learn it, and the time you would
like to do it in.
The learning centres not only offer computing classes, but will offer
courses in personal and community development using information technology.
The learning could be in a class setting or on your own through self learning.
The centres provide free internet access and you will be given help to
set up your own email account which is yours to access from anywhere in
the world! The learning centres are open on a drop in basis at selected
times. Feel free to go along and see what you could learn.
