Doon Academy is a six year comprehensive school located within
the village of Dalmellington. It serves the communities of
Dalmellington, Bellsbank, Patna, Waterside and Rankinston and the
surrounding rural area.
The school originally opened in its current
building in 1978 and has been extensively refurbished in recent
months. The building is in excellent condition and we are
confident that our school offers educational facilities far in excess
of many other schools.
The broad aims of Doon Academy are:
- To enable all pupils to make optimum progress
by providing a coherent, balanced curriculum incorporating key
aspects of personal and social development, process skills and
appropriate vocational education
- To manage the welfare of pupils in a caring and supportive manner

all pupils and staff and that the needs of the individual are
of paramount importance
