Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan

The Ayrshire Joint Structure Plan was approved by Scottish Ministers on 22 November 2007 and forms the Structure Plan for the three Ayrshire Councils.

The East Ayrshire Local Plan was adopted by the Council in April 2003.

East Ayrshire Opencast Coal Subject Plan Given the importance of opencast coal extraction to the economy of East Ayrshire and due to increasing pressure from opencast coal developers, the Council produced a separate subject plan dealing exclusively with Opencast Coal. This was adopted by the Council in March 2003 and can be accessed by clicking on the link below.
