e-PLANNING

You can now lodge your planning application online as East Ayrshire Planning and Economic Development Division has recently launched ePlanning Scotland. This is a national project involving all Planning Authorities in Scotland to receive planning applications and appeals online and install local systems to transfer the processing of planning applications from paper to electronic.
Through a simple registration you will be able to make a planning application or appeal via the internet which is received by the Council's ePlanning Systems.
The ePlanning Online Planning Information System (OPIS) publishes application records, documents and plans for public view. Anyone interested in any application whether a householder alteration or major retail development can search and view plans and certain associated documents online and track those applications from validation to decision. You can access OPIS by selecting the link below.
The system will provide the facility to make online comments and it is important to note that comments will be made available for the public to view online.
At present, upgrades to the system require that the ability to submit and view “comments” using the OPIS facility is temporarily suspended. When the upgrade is complete and when commenting on an application you will have to keep your comments to planning matters only and be careful not to use any potentially defamatory remarks for example about financial circumstances, criminal convictions or personal information which could lead to legal action being taken against you. Comments may be published online, consequently East Ayrshire Council reserves the right to amend any comment or correspondence received to remove any defamatory statements brought to our attention.
