Corporate Communications
The Corporate Communications section provides a range of media, print, design and publicity services to the council.

Corporate Development
The Corporate Development section is responsible for co-ordinating and progressing the implementation of the council's 'Best Value' programme, co-ordination of social inclusion across the Authority and supports the development of quality applications to national Funding Bodies in connection with External Funding.

Community Planning
Community Planning involves the Council working with its partners in the public sector to better plan and deliver services that meet the needs and aspirations of communities. The core community planning partners in East Ayrshire are Scottish Enterprise Ayrshire, NHS Ayrshire & Arran, Strathclyde Police, Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, Communities Scotland, Strathclyde Passenger Transport, The Community and East Ayrshire Council.

Corporate Communications

The Corporate Communications section provides a range of media, print, design and publicity services to the council:

• Press Office services - promoting the work of the council and its departments through the print and broadcast media. Handling all media enquiries relating to the council.

• Marketing services - copywriting, event management, sponsorship, photo-opportunity liaison.

• Design services - designing and managing the production of the council's printed materials and exhibition displays.

The Corporate Communications section also produces the council magazine 'Headlines' which is distributed twice a year to all addresses in East Ayrshire, and the employee magazine 'EastWords'.

Corporate Development

• Best Value
  All councils are required to ensure that they provide Best Value services, that is, services which are effective, economic and efficient. Councils must also demonstrate continuous improvement. The Corporate Development section is responsible for co-ordinating and progressing the implementation of the council's Best Value programme which is aimed at achieving these objectives across all of the council's services.

• Social Inclusion
  The Social Inclusion Unit is responsible for the co-ordination of social inclusion across the Authority and for ensuring that the principles of inclusion underpin the policies and programmes of all Council services.
  
  The Manager Social Inclusion carries lead responsibility for both the East Ayrshire Coalfield Area Social Inclusion Partnership (SIP) and the East Ayrshire North Social Inclusion Initiative.

  Better Neighbourhood Services Fund

• External Funding
  The External Funding Support Officer supports the development of quality applications to national Funding Bodies. The past years have seen an increase in the number of funds that can be accessed. These funds offer new opportunities for communities in East Ayrshire. In addition to direct support and advice to council staff, voluntary groups and members of the public, the External Funding Support Officer produces training and resource materials for dissemination.
