East Ayrshire Council publicises all its Tender Notices at www. Public Contracts Scotland.gov.uk which is the site that the public sector in Scotland advertises all of its business opportunities. The site is free to register, and companies can choose from a list of commodity categories that is of general interest. This generates email alerts when Notices are placed in the portal for these commodities. Companies can also peruse all of the live Tender Notices and formally express interest on-line and download electronic PQQ's and Tender documents. The portal also contains Award Notices that allow companies to identify succesful tenderers and seek potential sub-contracting opportunities. The portal is used for both large and lower value contracts (usually in excess of £30,000.00). The Council has also commenced using the poertal for seeking Quick Quotes for requirements with a value of between £500 and £30,000.00.All Companies who wish to seek business opportunuities with the Council are urged to register on the portal as soon as possible.
Where the contract value is anticipated to exceed
the EU Procurement threshold a Notice is also placed in the Official
Journal of the European Union (OJEU); formally known as Official Journal
of the European Communities (OJEC). In addition to these Notices and depending
upon the nature of the procurement, additional Notices may, on occasion, be placed in
Thursday's edition of the Glasgow Herald (Business to Business
section) and the local Ayrshire press.
Should you wish to be emailed a courtesy copy of a specific Tender Notice
to which you can then make a formal Expression of Interest, simply email
the Procurement Section by clicking on the project title and giving your
full business address and contact telephone number. You should note that
such a request will not constitute an Expression of Interest as this may
only be done after the Notice has been "posted" and received.
