Waste Strategy
Following the publication of the National Waste Strategy, Scotland in
1999 by SEPA work has been ongoing to investigate various methods of collection
and disposal of waste in Scotland.
To assist in this work SEPA divided Scotland into 11 area waste groups
each being responsible for preparing a plan to comply with the above strategy.
Dumfries & Galloway and the three Ayrshire Councils were partnered
together.
The following documents are the result of two years of working together
and hopefully from the consultation response we will be able to provide
a sustainable waste collection, recycling and disposal programme which
will benefit the community and the environment.
