Policing and public safety

Community Safety Partnership

Improving Community Safety Implementation Group

In 2003, the Community Planning structure with six thematic groups was established with Improving Community Safety being one of the key themes. The key remit of the group is to implement the actions plans contained within the Improving Community Safety Section of the Community Plan.

Membership of the Group comprises representatives at operational management level across public sector organisations with a community safety agenda. The group meets every 6 weeks to monitor progress of actions and identify areas of joint working at forthcoming events.

The group will focus on reducing crime; improving public safety and improving community safety in our neighbourhoods and homes. To be effective in delivering these aims, a coordinated approach is required to identify, plan, deliver and monitor community safety activity as an integral part of Community Planning through the Improving Community Safety Action Plan.
