SPEECHMAKING COMPETITION - 2005
The winning team of Emma Montgomery and Colleen Tait who
were from Stewarton Academy, will retain the Andrew Nisbet Trophy for
one year. Emma and Colleen were each presented with small silver cups
and a £20.00 book token.
The theme was "It'll never happen to me", which allowed the
teams to explore the belief that we must not be complacent and take responsibility
for our own actions.
Judges for the Competition were Councillor Jim Raymond, Vice Chair of
East Ayrshire Community Services Committee; Alex Milligan, Editor, Kilmarnock
Standard and Sgt. Ian Haynes, Strathclyde Police.
Emma and Colleen went on to win the semi-final of the competition held
at Paisley. The Final was held at Selkirk.
The competition will be held next year at Stewarton Academy.
