Community Safety
ANALYSIS
The Community Safety Partnership recognises the importance of sharing and analysing data to support Community Safety projects and initiatives.
Basic analysis consists of identifying trends over time, identifying sex, age and, geographic differences, comparing with Scotland and the UK rates and mapping incidents to identify hotspots.
Area Profiles showing social and community safety indices for data zones, wards and postcodes have also been constructed as have Accident Profiles showing age and sex differences for different accident types.
A range of tools including Statistical Analysis and Spreadsheet packages are used as well as Geographic Information Systems and Mapping packages.
Information including tables, charts and explanatory text is produced in the form of Documents, Web Pages and PDF files.
Data has been obtained from Community Safety questions in the East Ayrshire Community Planning Residents Survey. The associated Residents Panel is about to be surveyed on various aspects of Fire and Home Safety.
