Community Safety Awards

East Ayrshire Community Safety

Community Safety Awards 2005 - 2008

East Ayrshire Community Safety Partnership have identified three local community safety problems that will be tackled over the next three years:

  • Tackling Antisocial Behaviour with an emphasis on drug and alcohol misuse, and
  • Improving home, fire and road safety.

These three problems are tackled in the Improving Community Safety Section of the Community Plan and the six main aims are:

  3. To maintain and improve public safety. It has been identified through various surveys that the fear of crime in East Ayrshire remains high more effective use will be made of close circuit television, more effective use of antisocial behaviour funding including development of the Community Wardens scheme.
  4. To promote road safety and reduce road accidents.
  5. To develop safety initiatives to help people fell more safe and secure relating to home and fire safety
  6. To improve safety in neighbourhoods and homes. Actions under this aim will relate to home safety, neighbourhood safety, domestic abuse and improving health.
