GENEALOGY AND FAMILY TREES
All East Ayrshire Registration Offices have experienced staff who will
gladly assist you in tracing your family tree. Start with your own birth
certificate and work backwards using details such as full name, date and
place of birth or marriage. It may be useful to speak to older family
members to help clarify names, dates, places etc.
All 8 Registration Offices in East Ayrshire have access to the DIGROS
(Digital Imaging of the Genealogical Records of Scotland’s People)
computer system. This system has information on the following:
Births, Deaths and Marriages in Scotland from 1855
Scottish Divorce Records from 1st May 1984
Census Records 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901
