Registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages

The registration of births, deaths and marriages became compulsory in Scotland on 1st January 1855 following an Act of Parliament.

The Senior Registrar is responsible for ensuring that all births, deaths and marriages in East Ayrshire are registered.  In addition, staff can provide a genealogical service to people wishing to research their family tree.
