Street Cleansing


East Ayrshire Council is responsible for street cleaning and this includes sweeping, uplifting of litter and the emptying of litter bins on a programmed basis on adopted roads and hard standing areas throughout the council area. This service also includes the emptying of dog waste bins and the removal of dog faeces from roads and pavements.

The Street Cleaning Department also has a limited responsibility in terms of the removal of graffiti.
