Real Nappies

Introduction

East Ayrshire Real Nappy Project is working to promote the use of reusable nappies - the real alternative to disposables. Not only are reusable nappies good for your baby's health, they are also good for the environment, cheap and easy to use!

We are seeking to increase the number of real nappy users within East Ayrshire through partnership working with health professionals, and parents. Unfortunately, real nappies are not readily available in shops, and parents do not often have the chance to see, touch and feel real nappies, when deciding which type of nappy to use. If you already attend, or are about to attend parentcraft classes do ask your community midwife about real nappies. Community midwives all have access to demonstration packs which contain a range of real nappies for you to view. We will also attend local events, with sample kits, to enable you to see and discuss using real nappies with your baby.
