Household Waste

Brown Recycling Container


The Brown bin is emptied every four weeks. See Collection Days for more information.

Your Brown Bin (or Biodegradable sack) is for recycling your garden waste. This includes:

Grass Cuttings
Hedge Trimmings
Leaves
Weeds
Plants
Twigs
Chipped wood/bark
Sawdust
Flowers

Please DO NOT place the following in your Brown bin:

Food Waste
Plastic Bags
Animal Waste
Pet Hutch Waste
Soil/Rubble

These can not be composted and should be disposed of in your normal household refuse bin.

If the wrong items are placed in your Brown bin, it may not be collected. If this happens a contamination sticker will be placed on your bin lid with a contact number to call. Once the contaminant is removed please call the number to arrange for your bin to be emptied.

Extra Brown bins are available free of charge to households that dispose of a greater volume of garden material.
